There are a variety of colours and patterns available including the fleck spray which allows you to customise the colour and finish to suit your home. It is a spray-on application that is 2-3mm thick on top of the existing concrete. We can then work with this to create a one flat colour finish or a speckled/flecked finish with 50+ colours to choose from to create your own personal colour combos to suit your house. We can also use stenciling or hand taped designs to open up a larger array of patterns
Once we have finished the job you will need to not put anything on it for 7 days, including driving on it. You can, however, walk on it once the sealer is dry normally within 24-48hrs. Please also keep in mind that weather like rain, wind, and even the cold could cause delays in the drying time for the work so it may take extra time during poor weather. We need to wait for each stage to dry before continuing onthe next and this could take overnight. Spray Pave like all concretes takes 4 weeks to fully cure.
Our Spray Pave Work Process
Step 1 is all about the cleaning and prep work-
We do 2 acid washes and high pressure wash the concrete twice or grind the top surface to open the pores of the concrete to allow the new decorative concrete to bond with the old existing concrete. Any extra paid maintenance work will also need to be done on this day, this includes grinding of the top surface to remove old paint or sealer (at additional cost if this service is needed). Cracks will be filled using the spray pave concrete to create a smoother surface in that spot. (Please note that cracks are structural damage to your concrete and the spray pave is a decorative item only, we can hide the cracks but not structurally fix them). 2 primer coats are also applied the same day, the primer is a bonding agent and will help the new spray stick to the old concrete. We also use this same bonding product in the new spray-on concrete resurfacing mix.
Step 2 is about protecting your home and the base coats-
We will cover up your house with plastic/paper to protect it from any overspray. Overspray is minimum, it only goes up the plastic we place on your walls about 20-30cm. It does not spray over to a neighbour’s house and doesn’t fill the air with a fine spray. Spray Pave is a concrete based product so it is heavy and not easily blown away, if it is too windy we would stop work until we get calmer weather just like when it rains.
We will also do the first coat of the coloured Spray Pave or a troweled coat (This is at an extra cost used to go over patterns, this process uses more product and is more labour intensive).

If we are doing a pattern this is when we lay the pattern ready for the top spray.
f we are doing a pattern this is when we lay the pattern ready for the top spray. We will do the topcoat of the Spray Pave and if needed any textured coats this is the stage where it all starts to come together and you start to see the desired look you are after. (textured coats are very light coats to help give it grip) At this stage, you may question why the job looks lighter than you were expecting. This is because the Spray Pave dries a lighter colour however when we do the clear protective sealer those colours will pop back to the original colour you have chosen.
